Potty training resources ??

Question

Please share your best potty training resources whether it’s the potty itself or books or videos or training courses. I need to get my little one into preschool as soon as possible, but he has to be toilet trained for the one near us. I appreciate any recommendations so we can start learning!!!￼

I bought this book and started to read it to my toddler. In my opinion it helped “legitimize” my request since it’s printed in a book. I also used the chart & sticker system. I made a grid for each day of the week (y axis), and two columns for either pee or poo (x axis). Every time she used the potty she got to put a sticker on this chart (it’s huge, like 2’x3’). 
She only ended up using the chart for a week, then was potty trained. Make sure to buy nice cotton underwear with fun designs so it’s fun to wear your big kids underwear. Also, my kids wanted to wear underwear at night right away, so we followed her lead. Just buy a mattress pad for accidents and change sheets immediately so the child knows it’s a big ordeal.

We used the potty training in three days book. We used the baby Bjorn stand alone toddler potty. We got a dinosaur potty training chart and we used mini chocolate chips for a reward (1 for pee 2 for poop). We also took her to the store to pick out her own underwear and hyped up how exciting it would be to potty train.
It's a process and doesn't happen in three days. But the process, if you stick with it, is understood by 3 days. Making sure babe is ready to potty train is critical for it to work. Unless babe isn't ready, once you start stick with it. Get a second potty for the car along with a water bottle and tp/paper towels for quick cleanings on the go

We used the oh crap! Potty training book. I didn’t completely follow it but stuck to a lot of the principles of the book. You have to be ready for many accidents at the beginning and not give in. My son just turned 2 and has been potty trained for about a month now and will occasionally have a poop accident but great with pee. Poop does take longer for kids to get a hang of. Having him naked the first day was great. He would see the pee on the floor, stop and then run to the potty to finish. He did that twice and by the third pee he went to the potty and just peed. Poop is hard to gauge as they poop less than pee obviously so you have to watch for signs. Try not to stay in the naked phase too long either. Day 2 we did commando and had a few accidents throughout the day which we just kept telling him “next time we go on the potty.” He hated the feeling of the pee on him. We kept him commando for a couple weeks until he wasn’t having any accidents anymore and then put underwear on. It’s much easier for kiddos to push down just pants rather than pants and underwear so that’s why we waited. I would also suggest you work on pushing down pants and pulling them back up everyday.
