Why won’t men help out “independent” women?

Hi, 
I feel like when it comes to women being independent- men are less likely to lend their hand in finances for a woman that has her own although might needing help. Why is that?

I don't know the reason but you can ask him directly in a conversation if he's your partner, communication is very important. It also depends how you handle yourself as an independent women, for example when i started working I invited my husband to.eat out, go out to places, bought him clothes shoes and presents abd paid my portion of the bills without question so he got.used to it and expect it afterwards. It became an issue when I had to stop working he didnt felt the need to give me money, even tho he is my husband, because according to him I can work and earn it. And that's when i noticed that he didn't bought me presents, it was difficult for him to pay when eating out, didn't buy me clothes shoes or personal things because he thought i had to pay for them even.if i wasnt working. Thinking back i know I'm at fault for allowing him to believe that he didn't needed to provide anything for me. Not depending on him did made me feel independent but in a relationship total independece can create difficult situations. Now we've had many conversations and we're currently working things out but money can put stress in the relationship. I stopped doing everything i mentioned before and would only buy him presents for.special.occasions and being more alert on the way.he handles himself with my money, for.example "how about you pay this time?" Without discussing it prior to the time of  paying or the "you have money, you should pay for that" even tho.is for.the.both of us. Please note not all men are the same and their reasons may vary depending on their beliefs, culture, and education. Also I do believe that a HUSBAND is obligated help and provide for his wife, but not a boyfriend.

I don’t see that at all. My boyfriend knew I was financially independent when we got together and still insists on giving me $$ and caring for me financially despite me not needing/wanting it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
