My son is 16 months. His vocabulary has seemed to ebb and flow the last several months. Mama used to be the chosen word, now he rarely says it (like maybe once a week). He used to use “up” for everything, now he never says it. The preferred word now is “yeah/yes.” But these are the only three words he’s ever really used. He’s taken to whining over absolutely everyyyything, which is getting so frustrating. He points to what he wants, but that only means so much when he points in the general direction of the kitchen or something like that. How many words are your 1.5 year olds using? Are they ridiculously whiney? If so, how are you coping/addressing it? I follow Big Little Feelings, but mama only has so much patience in her for explaining that it’s ok to feel your feelings before I eventually tell him to just stop.
