being too rough down there

Sooo my boyfriend of 5.5 years hardly ever goes down on me and when he does he’s to rough.. and uses too much tongue on my clit not around how i like , but literally on the clit and it hurts because i’m pretty sensitive down there i tell him go slower but it’s like he hears me saying go faster and i just find it so un enjoyable at times and he starts playing with it but it’s like he doesn’t know how and when i tell him he does not pay attention what do i do? i love my man but this is just wow to me i try to tell him what i like just how he does to me but i’m never heard.
