Which milk would you choose?
I’ve gotten plenty of shit for this in the past but I truly cannot understand why a large majority of the world consider it ‘normal’ to drink cow’s or other animal’s milk - let alone more normal than a human drinking breast milk past a certain age.
I’ve heard and seen so many people comment that it’s gross for a parent to breastfeed their older child, wrong for a child to consume breast milk that isn’t from their own parent or that it’s disgusting for an adult to consume breast milk (even if it’s a person with breasts trying their OWN milk).
Despite growing up omnivore and still occasionally eating traces of dairy … I have tried and failed my entire teen & adult life to understand why the above is seen so negatively when so many people are okay drinking milk from other animals; and often encourage it.
Whether it’s from a cow, goat, sheep or any other … can someone please explain to me how milk made for THEIR young is supposed to be more normal for humans to drink than another human’s?
I’m not here to judge anyone. I just genuinely do not understand the supposed logic - unsure if me being autistic plays a part - but this REALLY bugs me & I think it always will 🙃
I’m not eager to drink breast milk (though I’ve tried my own) and currently drink oat milk; but if it were necessary for us to drink milk other than for health and developmental purposes and plant-based was NOT an option, I would choose human milk over another animal’s any day.
That being said, which would you choose and why?
