Baptism

Hello everyone, my name is Valentine and I am 25 married to my husband who is American. We are expecting our first child for February 2024 and I am concerned about our future child’s baptism, well more full of question rather than worries : Godparents are to me a very important role, my Godmother is my world and was my guiding light for peace during the harsh years of life and I am also not a fan of having family members as godparents. My godmother lived in England all of my life and we never were in the same country and yet she was incredibly involved in my religious upbringing.

My question is : I know who I want the godmother to be (my husband chose the godfather), but she lives in France. I am worried that our children will not be able to have their godparents be presents and I do not want to wait to long to baptise them.

Has any of you been in a similar situation or have any opinion on the subject ?
