how long after the iud removal did your period return to normal?

i got my iud taken out in july, after being on a period for 3 months. i had a normal length (but extremely heavy) period about 2 weeks after the removal (in early august). according to the app, i was supposed to start a new period 3 days ago. i am wondering how long it took for everyone else’s periods to come back to normal. for anyone wondering, there is very little chance i am pregnant, i have literally only had sex once since my last period and it was with a condom. but i would like to know when to expect my period to return to normal

I had the mirena iud removed in either April or May of 2021. That first period was absolute hell and I almost went to the ER because of it because I genuinely thought and felt like I was dying, and I’ve had heavy periods my whole life. From there I had a normal period in August and September, no period in October or November, a normal period in December, no period in January, and no period in February because I conceived baby #2 at the end of January. 
I had the paragard iud removed a couple weeks ago and the almost 50 day “period” I had been dealing with ended a couple days before I had it removed. Now I’m on the mini pill and I just got period-like bleeding four days ago. It seems normal so far. I just hope it stops😂

If you had a hormonal iud, it could take anywhere from ~3 months to a full year. Mine personally never was regular. I was on birth control pills for 3 years then swapped to an iud so I wouldn’t have to remember a pill every day. I had painful issues with it, so I had it removed end of September 2020 and wanted to give my body a break afterwards. Fast forward to august 2021, I found out I had hypothyroidism. My period would come one month and then wouldn’t start on its own. I had to induce my period with medication 4 times. Fast forward to beginning of April 2022, I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant but hadn’t had a period since November 2021 (going on 5 months with no period). I now have a healthy 9 month old, a Paraguard (non-hormonal) iud, and still a very irregular period 😂🥲 Good luck to you!
