Last day of 2015 and I had my babies

Alissa
Last day of 2015 and I had my babies. 36 +2 days after being discharged a few days prior after staying 3 weeks for preterm labor.
1:30 AM 12/31 I started feeling pretty good contractions so we rushed to the ER since I was 6 cm dilated already. After being admitted again the contractions were getting pretty serious so I asked for an epidural. 8 AM the doctor said let's break your water and after I go finish my rounds we'll see if we can deliver the babies.
He came back at 10 AM and checked me and said gather the troops. Baby A, my son came out with 4 pushes and I was able to do skin to skin and hold him. In the meantime doctor was already working on Baby B, my daughter. He broke her water and had me push. She came out in 2 pushes! The babies were great and healthy.
Then they started massaging my stomach to get the placentas out. Hurt so much. And after I delivered it. An hour later the nurse asked me if I wanted to use the bathroom so I did. She assisted me making sure my legs were ok after the epidural.
I sat down on the toilet and said I'm dizzy and passed out... I woke up and I saw 3 nurses in front of me holding me up on the toilet. They started saying she's blinking!! Alissa, let's get you on the wheel chair and I passed out again. I woke up again and I was lying on the bathroom floor and they were asking me to sip on juice. After 10 minutes of laying there, they finally got me up and got me back to bed. Turns out I was bleeding so much and it wouldn't stop. The doctor came back and ordered an emergency D and C stat and wheeled me away. All I could remember was seeing my husband crying and me apologizing to worry him. Then seeing the nurse in the OR who cared for me while I stayed during my preterm labor. They said I was going to be ok. And I woke up crying back in my room. I lost 2 liters of blood and they pumped me full of fluids and was ready to give me blood transfusion. I was so cold and after they warmed me with blanket and some type of warm air blowing blanket. I slept hard for a few hours.
Then I woke up and was able to hold my babies again. I even tried breast feeding. I was still dizzy and woke up so swollen. But it was all worth it for my little twins. They were the best part of my 2015! I love them so much. I would do it again for them.
