In most cases, probably. I would say it depends on the drug, if they have the desire and ability to go into a treatment program, and what the overall situation looks like.

Hi so let me first start off by saying I’m a recovering alcoholic. Not like, “oh she drinks a lil too much form time to time.” No like been to too many detoxes and treatments to count. I should also mention I never drank during pregnancy but before and after I did. 
Here is one thing I heard in an NA meeting…and that totally clicked with me because I’ve have felt this and struggled with it so deeply…was that the only thing stronger than a mothers love for her child, is her drug/alcohol addiction. And let me tell you, I hate saying that so incredibly much. It makes me sick. Because it’s awful. But it’s true. And only an addict will ever be able to understand that. That is how bad the struggle of addiction is. I’m one hell of a mother but I drank too much. And I lost temporary custody of my children. That was my rock bottom. That was the worst day of my entire life. Up until that point I just didn’t take my sobriety seriously. I didn’t get the proper help I needed because I was worried about getting back to my kids asap. When really what I need more than anything was to take the time for myself to heal. Get treatment, do counseling etc. Praying for whoever this post is regarding. As for my opinion on ur poll, and as an addict I believe the child should be in someone else’s care that can provide a healthy environment while mommy goes and gets the help she needs. We do recover. ❤️

I know plenty of people who were born to a mother and even father who used drugs. It affected them In many ways. Not safe at all, not to mention still does!

Why is this a question? The mother is directly harming the baby, who didn’t choose this. Watch a video of a baby withdrawing and see how awful it is. And that’s not to mention anything else that’s wrong with them due to the drugs and malnutrition

Babies thrive better with bio mom, even in unfavorable situations from what I've read. Mom needs supports of course because it's likely she may not be able to provide the care she should be. But I don't know how that would actually be implemented.
