Is taking a break from a relationship considered a break-up

I’ve been dating this amazing man that I fell in love with. He has been so busy with his life especially renovating his house, taking care of a sick parent, stressors at work that he has been working later than usual. We are at a long distance relationship. He asked if we could take a break for him to fix and figure a lot of things out. These issues have taken some toll on our relationship. I’ve been patient with him since we started to date. Is this considered a break-up? I did say yes to the break.
