Pads or tampons?

Question

If you experienced a chemical pregnancy, how long do you bleed for? And can you wear tampons cause the blood is heavier and excessive?

With my chemical it was like a slightly heavier period that lasted 8 days instead of my usual 7. Pads. Because that's what I always use, but also they wanted me to use overnight pads to keep an eye on the bleeding. If you fill an overnight pad (specifically overnight) in 2 hours or less, it's too much. 
Same with my missed miscarriage. Overnight pads to keep an eye on the bleeding. Though it didn't seem to matter much as I bled right through and was standing in a puddle of blood in my bathroom and they said I was fine 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it's always been recommended to use overnight pads to gauge the bleeding. (I bled for 2 weeks with that loss. Only a few days were extremely horrific, the rest were just heavy then tapered off.)
