How to bring it up?

I'm about to turn 18 and I don't know how to tell my mom that i think i should be on birth control before that. Should i just wait until i'm 18?

I'm 17, 18 in 2 months, and I went to the doctor last month and got birth control without her knowing because I wanted to have safe sex but didn't want to tell her I was having sex. Just make your own doctors appointment, you're old enough to go alone 😊

I'm sure you're able to go to the dr and get it yourself. But if you want to be respectful to momz then send her a text first 😄 and see how that goes and from there I'm sure there will be a lot to talk about. Good luck

My mom didn't want me on birth control and I knew that. I was 15 and went in for a check up and asked my doctor right Infront of her if I could get on birth control and didn't pay her any attention and he put me on the shot. I had sex once when i was 15 and after that I got on birth control because I decided that it was MY body and I didn't want to have any babies as a teen. I told my mom this and she accepted that and said atleast I was being smart.  This is just how I felt about it, I figured that since I felt mature enough to have sex I needed to take precautions. I'm 19 now and I don't have any babies so I think I did pretty well.

At that age u should be able to talk to your mom about birth control and sex. Also, idk why your dr would ever tell u that u need a parent to be seen, that's unheard of unless your like 12. Birth control is available to any girl or woman. Go to a planned parenthood, or do u have a gynecologist? Also, if for whatever reason you don't get on birth control use condoms please those are available anywhere to anyone it's a form of birth control as well.

Same here. But I just turned 17. Mom told me she was going to put me on it when I turned 16 because "we all make mistakes." keep in mind I don't like being alone in public much less feel comfortable alone with a guy. I've heard it helps periods a lot. By not sure how to talk to my strict,always telling mother...
