When to start planning wedding

My boyfriend is proposing to me this upcoming summer and I'm wondering if it'd be weird to do research on venues, photographers, churches, and so on.

The wedding would be summer 2017. Is that weird?

Start pinning to boards if you want but I'd wait until after you were engaged to plan

It wouldn't hurt to start looking at venues because some book very quickly depending on when you plan to get married (summer is usually busiest).  The rest of the stuff can fall into place unless you plan on a short engagement.  I was guilty of planning it on Pinterest but didn't look into actual vendors til we got engaged.

My friend booked the venue before they were engaged. It was a 1 year and a half waiting list and she said she thought he would propose by then so they would just make it fit the timeline when he proposed lol!

I was doing research when I knew he was the one. Like a year and a half before he actually proposed :)
