Menstrual cup smell

I’ve been using a menstrual cup for over a year and have never had it smell like this, when I woke up today to dump it (right around the 12 hour mark) it smelled so rotten I started gagging and it’s never had a smell at all. Even after cleaning with soap and water three times the smell is bad enough to gag. I ended up using a disc to go to work for 8 hours. I’ve came home and it still smells that bad and currently have it soaking in soapy water. I also boiled it for 10 minutes before use last night. The blood in my disc smelled rotten but not as bad as the cup, should I be go to the doctor concerned?? Should I just throw this cup away and get a new one?
