Foley bulb/balloon?

Question

Anyone had one inserted for induction ? Does it hurt ? Is it uncomfortable ? If I don’t have baby boy by Tuesday I will be getting one inserted to be induced since this is the only method of induction I can have since I’m doing a VBAC

I had one done back in 2017 in my second pregnancy and it didn’t bother me at all. Went in easy, and came out easy!
Just some slight pain, but it wasn’t bad or unbearable

I had it once and it was absolutely awful. Ive heard good and bad experiences. The main point of it is to get your cervix to open more. It opened my cervix a bit more but I it didn't help. I would go for an epidural before that if you are able so you sont have to go through that pain.

Just had my third baby but only had the balloon  with my first baby in 2020 and 100% don’t recommend. It was the worst part of my induction.

Honest answer : for me it was torture. I have a very sensitive cervix (and will pas out during procedures like IUD insertion). Knowing this, I had the epidural BEFORE getting the Folley inserted. It still hurt more than delivering baby’s head. They literally inflate the balloon so that it forces your cervix to open and will come tug at it every 30 mins or so. Inserting stuff in your uterus can also increase your risks of infection. I ended up with a pelvic infection 2 days postpartum and had to get antibiotics. 
I know for some women it’s a walk in the park. It wasn’t for me. But maybe worth trying if you don’t have a sensitive cervix.
