Hi everyone!

I’m worried about my 11 month old son, he’s very very possessive over me, which, I feel like he is very sweet as he’s always wanting a cuddle and a kiss and if he falls he comes straight over to me for some comfort, but any time his dad shows me any affection, whether we try to cuddle or kiss or do anything romantic, my son gets hysterical. Like snot dripping out of his nose, catching his breath hysterical. And it takes seconds to get to that stage.

We’ve tried including him in family cuddles to show him it’s ok but he just cries until his dad leaves/gives up, and out of the two of us I am definitely the preferred parent.

I’m a softer touch than his dad too, his dad has a stricter parenting style and has no problems with telling him off whereas I’m quite happy to continue repeating myself (moving him away from dangerous activities such as climbing up the furniture and I’ll explain why “no” to him until he stops), so it could also be the difference in how we parent.

But I’m just worried that this is something he won’t overcome and will be a barrier for him in life, I’m pregnant with his first sibling and also have worries about him becoming jealous when I show the baby the same love I’ve shown to him.

Any advice or experience ?
