is parental anxiety a thing?

Me and my sons dad co parent because we aren’t together and swap getting our son certain days of the week. However whenever i get i feel heightened anxiety. I’m always checking his temperature and watching him to make sure he’s okay and it’s driving me crazy and it doesn’t give me a positive feeling. My son is 4 and idk i have him now and i just feel so on edge. I feel awful so so awful that i feel this way

Yes, anxiety around your children is definitely a thing. For me it's not so much about their health, like it was when they were a baby. But now it's more about their energy level and loudness ￼and weirdness lol ￼its very overstimulating to me and I do tend to get anxious at times because of it. ￼ I would recommend seeing a therapist to help you cope with it, and making stress relief a priority. ￼

What is it that is causing you to do and feel this way? Do you worry the other parent isnt taking care of your son? Or worried that you arent doing something right?
