Reducing the male or female population?

Question

I ran past an article that had an idea of reducing the male population by 70% or something like that.. saying it would be beneficial to mankind. So without going into too much detail... would you rather it be 50% of the male population or 50% of the female population if you had to choose? Of course you would be immune, so pick one.

Just thinking about population control, it makes more sense to eliminate men than women.

One man could impregnate many women. But, generally speaking, a woman only carries and births one child at a time.

Animals do this all the time, that's why there's only ever one male lion in a pride, or why farmers only keep one bull.

Doing it with humans is fucked up and unethical though, it would turn into eugenics very quickly.

I'd prefer none happened but if this is a MUST ANSWER question I'd go with men. Nothing against men, but from my standpoint men produce thousands/millions of sperm throughout their life, and can impregnate several women in a day (if he's a lucky fellow), whereas women have a set number of eggs, after becoming pregnant they're out of commission for nearly a year, along with how temperamental our bodies can be. Causing pregnancies to fail due to sometimes unknown reasons just because our body didn't feel it was the right time. 
So the men left could easily make up the difference (if they so choose), but women could not do so nearly as quickly or easily. However it would probably be a bit more of a mess in reality than written down

I assume the benefit would be reducing our enormous over population problem, so the most helpful in said scenario would be to reduce the number of females.
