When do you tell close family (parents, siblings, etc.) you are pregnant? I know many wait until 12 weeks to tell anyone to be safe, but family seems different to me..

To each their own, but I'd tell my husband then wait until at least 8+ weeks or until you've had an ultrasound and heard a heartbeat! Me and my husband have had 2 miscarriages in 2015 and the first time I found out I was expecting- it wasn't necessarily planned, but we were so excited and told immediate family and a few close friends. They played a big role in helping us cope after the news of the miscarriage, however, I felt really bad for our parents as well as us. Like a disspointed feeling that we let them down (obv not the case but hormones tells you otherwise. Our 2nd pregnancy, we weren't as as excited but still happy to be pregnant again. We were nervous to tell people but decided to relish in the happiness and unknown before our apt and we told immediate fam and a few friends again. Now after our 2nd Mis, we decided as together that the next time we find out we are expecting, we will be the only ones to know until after a ultrasound and news of a healthy pregnancy/heartbeat. It's just too hard and oddly enough harder to break the news to family and friends when you experience something like a miscarriage! It's a very personal choice:)

I told my mother and mother in law the day I got a positive test because I was so excited and my husband was out of town so I wanted to tell someone!

I am going to he a "High Risk" pregnancy.
I can't tell anyone till after MY 20 WEEK ULTRASOUND :(  
I don't even know if I'll get a baby shower.

I'd absolutely tell my husband, mom and step dad the second I get a BFP. All other close family maybe a few weeks and then distant family and announce on Facebook at 10-12 weeks :)
