Can bladder protection pads be used for bleeding?

I'm not used to buying pads since I hardly need them, but I need to use them right now. I just bought some and wasn't paying much attention and ended up buying bladder protection pads instead of period pads (didn't realize until I got home). Will these still work, or should I return them and get the right ones?

Yes they can! I’ve used them on & off at times for my period, including currently, and sometimes they honestly work better for me (especially ones that have slightly raised sides for more protection from side leakage).

Theoretically, they are made differently. The incontinence ones are designed for thinner liquids (like urine) and the period ones are designed to handle some borderline solids (like blood). If they’re all you have, absolutely use them. You already have a couple posters here saying they feel they were similarly. However, if you have time to switch them out, I personally would do it.

They do. My husband buys me pads like once every 5 years and without fail always ends up buying the incontinence ones. They work the same. I’ve bought liners before just because they were cheaper and same thing, work just the same.
