I went for my first scan this week at 8wks 2 days. The doctor saw our healthy baby with a heart rate of 170 and then said that there had been a twin but it hasn't developed. The 2nd sac was smaller but not small; I didn't get a good look at it as the Dr didn't seem to really pay much attention so I didn't get to see if there was any fetal pole or yolk sac showing. Of course I'm grateful to have our 1 healthy baby but I'm wondering if this happened to anyone else and if there's any chance of the second sac being viable? I've read a lot about vanishing twin and I know it's quite common but I wonder if there's any hope?
