I think it has more to do with how enthusiastic the person is. My ex never really tried and wasn't into it, he tried it twice because I asked him. My SO likes to do it and bases what he does on my physical responses. 
I've slept with 2 women before, neither were interested in eating me, but both tried. My SO is much better.
