I really need advise. Please.

I've been on birth control for 2 months and this month, idk if what I'm experiencing is my period? I started 3 days ago but it's brown discharge and dark red blood. I also had some blood clotting in my "period". Should I consider this my period or is this just discharge?! Idk if I should get a pregnancy test
