⚠️ UPDATE ⚠️ took him to the ER and they did another rapid test which came back positive for Strep.

Took my child to urgent care this morning. He had a fever 2 days ago, along with a headache. The next morning he said he felt fine and his fever was gone. Then later that day he started complaining about a sore throat at dinner time and said it hurts to swallow. I took the first picture last night, and the second one this morning. Urgent did a rapid strep test, which came back negative. They didn’t give him anything and said it’s just “white gunk” on the back of his throat. I’ve never had strep, so I don’t have much experience with it, but I think this is more than just a sore throat. He doesn’t have any other cold symptoms, and my mom (who has seen strep many times) thinks it looks like strep.

If you have experience with strep, do you think this looks like strep? Should we get a second opinion, or wait a few days? I just don’t want to not get it treated if it is strep.
