Mackenzie for a boy?

I really want to name my baby boy Mackenzie. I think it’s such a handsome name. But 90% of Mackenzies are girls so I’m really hesitant. Would you name your baby boy Mackenzie if it’s your top favorite?

I knew a guy named Mackenzie. Everyone called him Mack. I wouldn’t worry too much about if you like it. People can have their opinions all they want.

The first Mackenzie I met was a boy. That was back in the 90s. He’s in his 30s now. I haven’t met another male Mackenzie.

I personally wouldn’t! That’s a girls name. I never met a boy Mackenzie and just because it’s your top favorite name you need to think of you’re son when he starts school kids are cruel and I personally wouldn’t want my son being made fun of

Definitely a girl name in the US. But that’s not true everywhere.
As with all names, it about what you’re willing to explain or expect. Want an alternate spelling? Go for it, but expect you’ll be spelling it for everyone for 18+ years. 
Want to give your kid a name not traditionally associated with their gender? Go for it, but expect some confusion or wrong assumptions. 
People have higher and lower tolerances for every variable.
