Still positive pregnancy test after miscarriage

I had a spontaneous miscarriage at 9 weeks pregnant over 6 week ago. I bled for 3 straight weeks, it stopped for 2 days and then I bled for another 4 days. I did have sex when I thought the bleeding had stopped. I now have not bled for over a week and still getting positive pregnancy test, faint but still there. My doctor has been monitoring my hcg and it is decreasing but not gone. Has it taken anyone else this long for hcg to decrease? I had a miscarriage last year too and I was getting negative tests 2 weeks after. How long until I ovulate again or until my period will return? After giving birth to my son my period returned after 6 weeks. I also birthed had a still birth of twins in March, only bled for 3 weeks and period returned at 7 weeks. For a first trimester loss I feel like this is taking forever and we just want to try again so badly ☹️
