Period came and still testing positive

I had a D&C on 9/13 and started what I thought was my period on 10/12 thru 10/14. HCG was confirmed to be 10 with a blood test on 10/13., today (10/17) I’m still testing positive for pregnancy. Can you get your period with HCG in your system?
