Breastfeeding or formula?

I’m currently trying to breast feed my 3 week old baby and he just falls asleep so I am thinking he is done but then he cry’s like he is still hungry so he eats some more from me. I feel like he is just eating and eating, sometimes he can eat from me and then 2-3oz of breast milk from a bottle and then some more from me. He is eating almost 5+ ounces in a sitting.

You are way way over feeding bottles. Stop the bottles and just nurse. Any bottle you give MUST be pace fed with a slow flow nipple.

If falling asleep midfeed AND you are worried about weight you can try placing a cold wet wipe on their face or tickling their feet. I had a late term preemie that struggled to stay awake for food so we did whatever we could to keep them up until they finished sated. We did do bottles at night and nursing during the day but didn't really combine for a single feed. Kiddo was a fast nurser to boot so it was hard to be sure they were done unless they spit up...we settled into a routine around 4-6wks then the kiddo shifts feeding a bit at 3m then again at 6m. All a slow learning exp for you both!

Feed on demand and let him dream feed if he must. 3-4 weeks is a big growth spurt. You alone are enough for your baby. Right now it’s crucial because you are building a supply. BFing is all about supple and demand. Baby should be feeding every 2-3 hours, sometimes every hour if they are going through a leap.
