Early pregnancy + heartburn?

Has anyone experienced severe heartburn as an early pregnancy symptom? I’m currently in my TWW, I’m about 8 dpo. But twice in the last few days I’ve woken up at night with excruciating heartburn…. And have never had heartburn in my life prior, nor did I eat right before bed, or eat anything that I haven’t already eaten before. I’m trying to figure out if that’s a common sign, not just because I want to be pregnant, but I want to understand why this is happening, since it’s so painful! also, if anyone has any good remedies for heartburn, let me know!
