Ovulation Test

So I have been taking the first response digital ovulation test for the past 20 days. I followed the instructions on the box and started on the fifth day of my period. I have had a negative LH response to it every single day for the past 20 days. Is that normal? My husband and I are trying to conceive, and it's just not happening. So I decided to turn to ovulation tests to monitor it. I do feel that I am stressed at the moment and I am putting all my effort into trying to get pregnant, work is stressful and just generally right now I feel as though I'm a stressed-out person I know that doesn't help in trying to get pregnant. I am a week away from my period and I am not getting a positive LH reading at all for this month.
