Worried about daughter's boyfriend being too immature for her

First off I understand that boys mature slower than girls do it's normal for 16 year old boys to be immature. I just worry he's TOO immature. She just has a good head on her shoulders and I don't want her losing that over some boy. He's a nice kid. But instead of spending his birthday with my daughter she told me they were going to a movie at night because he was at build a bear with his dad. They have a tradition where they do the pay your age thing every year. It's just a bear you can get every year and however old you are it's how much you pay. That's cute if you're turning 6. Not 16. I'm not trying to judge someone's parenting but don't most dad's take their son's fishing for their 16th birthday or have a beer or something? My daughter still had fun at the movies which is what matters. I just worry.
