Has this happened to anyone?

Found out I was pregnant last week, it’s been 5 weeks since my last period. Went to work and started bleeding and cramping so I went to urgent care, my hcg was 42 so they said I’m having a spontaneous abortion. They did ultrasound internally and said they couldn’t see anything anywhere, it could just be to early or already passed. But then I Had more blood tests today and it’s 97. So more than doubled in two days. I’m still bleeding and having cramps more towards one side though, not bad enough to go in though. Would an ectopic pregnancy hcg double ? They said unless I’m on severe pain or sick then not to worry. But none of this makes sense 😭
