Late period

I had my mc back in august and last month I finally had a normal period. Now me and my partner haven’t been actively trying but also not completely preventing it (the pull out method). Now I am 6 days late for my period. I’ve had some cramping but other then that nothing. I took a test a week ago and it was negative so I don’t think im pregnant again. It’s just rough to have that hope that maybe I could be and knowing one of these days I’ll get it and my heart will be crushed. Has this happened to anyone else? Had irregular periods after a mc?
