Kind of annoyed at 4w4d ultrasound

I have a history of ectopic so as soon as I got a positive test my doctor ordered betas. No problem with that. They went up from 106 at 12dpo to 306 at 14dpo. I figured that was great, was enough to rule out an ectopic and would have been perfectly happy waiting a few weeks for a dating ultrasound but no, my doctor ordered an ultrasound at 4 weeks. I pushed her to 4w4d at least but went into this expecting that it was super early and we wouldn’t see anything and it would stress me out.

Sure enough. They found a “collection of fluid” (wouldn’t call it a gestational sac for some reason, but that’s what it was) measuring 4w6d, which would be exactly in line with my ovulation. But they didn’t see anything in it (which is maybe why they wouldn’t call it a gestational sac, I don’t know).

So now here I am, calculating where my HCG should be if it kept raising at the rate it would getting all freaked out because if my HCG is raising at that rate we should be able to see something.

I have a follow up ultrasound in 2 weeks and I’m going to be stressing until then so I really feel like this scan did nothing for us but stress me out.
