Potty training advice?

Question

So my son will be 2 in November...he has peed on the potty twice but randomly and thats it...I need to get this going...any adviceon potty training little boys?

A friend of mine just finished potty training her son and I'm not entirely sure what she did with the whole process but she did tell me that not using pull ups and going straight to underwear, besides a diaper at night, helped a lot.

My son would NOT potty train for the life of me.. till one day (around 3 years old) hes like "phst, i got this" and hasnt wet his pantes during the day since (now almost 5) we still have many accidnets at night. But i figure thay will come with time. A child will start doing things on their time, when they feel comfortable. I wouldnt rush it yet.

I did all the potty training when I worked at a daycare , and after much was potty time, and before nap time, after nap, after snack, and about every 20-25 mins it was time to go try. And make it something fun for them, hang something up in your bathroom that can be a chart so evey time he goes potty he gets a sticker. And even give him a prize if he goes so many times by the end of the week or something. :) just an idea

Also dunno if this would help anyone else but to remind me to take him every half an hour I put alarms on my phone and he picked up on this and loved it so now he tells me himself that "phone says poopahs time" whenever it rings,so that's really helping getting him in the mindset of needing the toilet, plus he enjoys it rather than being dragged there and then refusing to do anything

Dunno if it helps but the way I started was that I put him in the toilet straight after breakfast coz I noticed he did a poo literally straight after every single day.so that helped me start the concept of using the toilet.after that like someone else said just keep putting him on every half an hour or so,doesn't matter if he doesn't do anything,it's just teaching them the concept of always using the toilet rather than in their nappy. Plus of course pull ups or training pants really help.

We put fruit loops in the potty and the boys would try to "shoot" them.

Stick with a schedule. Put him on the potty every 30 minutes, regardless of whether he pees or not. Then lose the diaper/pull-up for a day. Just keep putting him on the potty. 
​Don't make it disappointing when he doesn't go, or if he has an accident. Let him know he's doing good for trying and that he'll have better luck next time. Then every time he pees in the potty, celebrate it!
