After moving to a new state…having pregnancy complications one month after moving…to preterm labor leading to a 27 weeker…to a 4 month long nicu stay in another city…and the shitty market

1.5 years later we finally bought a house in our new state. We were living with my parents who moved just before we did!

It’s a small house (2b2b) on a beautiful acre. It’s .9 miles down the road from my parents. We saw potential and decided we can make it work!

It was VERY dirty. There was a black layer on the walls. The 2 year old carpet smells like dog pee and it seems like it was never vacuumed. It was grossly satisfying to clean. It was built in 1989.

We did lots of cleaning, painting, and decorating! We had to buy all new kitchen appliances (all for under $3000 which was awesome!).

The electrical is messed up so we have someone coming to look at that to make it safe! We need new windows at some point (single panel is very cold here). The bathrooms need new finishes. The light fixtures need to be changed (3 fluorescent lights..why?!?).

But it’s looking real homey! ❤️

It’s not done or anywhere close to perfect! We still have a few boxes (pushed out of the picture 😂) and we need to clean up the porch!
