Hello all!

In Kentucky it is illegal to pay a surrogate. You’re allowed to reimburse for things like gas, maternity clothes, groceries, etc. and you cover all of the medical costs. What I’m wondering is if anyone (from Kentucky or a neighboring state in particular) has found anyone willing to carry without additional compensation. If so, where did you go. The doctor has suggested asking at church to see if anyone feels called to be that blessing, but I’m nervous about putting myself in that sort of spotlight. I have always known that I wanted kids, but unfortunately I found out at 17 that I had two underdeveloped uteruses that had to be removed due to medical complications. I recently got married, so all of the questions about having kids have started to pour in and it’s overwhelming. I want to have kids as soon as possible, but I don’t have anyone who could carry for me and I’m not sure how to start the process of finding someone. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! I’m located in the Louisville area.
