Birth Question!
Has anyone ever had amniotic fluid in their blood right after birth? If so, what happened.
My last son was born April of 2022. I went into labor naturally at 38+2. I had an epidural and gave birth vaginally. Everything went amazing until the second after he was born. I couldn’t breathe and my oxygen dropped drastically. My pulse went up and I lost a lot of blood. They did many emergency scans and bloodwork, but could not pinpoint exactly what happened. They thought it was amniotic fluid in my bloodstream. I had to stay on oxygen for a day and then kept me a little longer to monitor. Nothing else happened.
Jumping to present day, I am 19 weeks pregnant and have a different doctor. She has looked over my history and thinks I had amniotic fluid in my blood. My labor and delivery nurse thought so as well. My doctor has been so good about making a birth plan to watch me close this time. But, I was wondering if any moms had a similar story and didn’t have issues their next birth.
My lil boy 🤍 now over a year and a half 🥺
