I rather struggle then ask for help

My mom called me early this morning to tell me my husband borrowed money from her. I don't like borrowing or asking anybody for money. He knows that so he didn't tell me. She made it sound like a problem and sounded annoyed he asked so after the phonecall I told my husband to do me a favor and not ask anymore and we'll figure it out. He said okay and said he was going to tell me but I had already gone to sleep. I then messaged my mother and told her I spoke with him and told him not to ask again. She then does a complete 180 and replies saying not to make him feel bad and she's there for us and that she doesn't mind. Okay? So then why call me early in the morning bitching about my husband borrowing money? Regardless I told my husband to make it the last time. What upsets me is my husband does anything she asks. He'll drop everything and do it. I don't like asking for anything from anyone even family.
