I feel its a great reason to have a party, whether its your 1st or 5th! If you are concerned as to how people will feel, just put "no gifts please" on the invitations. That way people can just come to celebrate, enjoy being with others, eating delicious food and cake, and having a great time!

I think no matter what pregnancy number your on you are allowed to have a baby shower. A baby shower gives your friends/family time to celebrate the baby. Depending on How far apart your children are you might not need a crib or not but all babies need dippers, clothes, blankets, burp clothes and a ton of other things. Congratulations on baby #2!!!

Definitely! If its the same gender, though, I've attended a few diaper showers, where the expectant motherr just asked everyone for diapers to stock herself u, since she had most everything she needed from her first son

I'm pregnant with #2 and my son is 5! I don't know what I'm having yet but regardless of the sex! I will have a baby shower! I don't find it rude at all to ask for another baby shower! My husband and I will buy a lot of the larger stuff due to not having anything baby wise in the home anymore! But who doesn't love gifts and the help! People have showers for second marriages so to me what's the difference!

No, I think it's rude to ask people to buy gifts for another child. I thought the point was to set up a new mother with the tools she needs with a newborn.
