How to plan at home-advice?
Ok so dont normally like posting but I just read a bunch about how some of you have done the at home choice so hoping this will go well. Pregnant with our first and from the start I've had this "instinct" that I need to plan for an at home birth. Friends and family look at me like I'm crazy and say things like, "just visit the hospital maybe it'll make you feel better about it"- has nothing to do with that. In my mind, a hospital is a hospital. Ultimately this is just an instinct, that normally when I ignore things backfire but when I listen it goes better, so I'm trying to trust it. But even bringing up "how do you plan for an at home birth" to the doctors (one of whom is supposed to be a midwife as well, I only recently got to see her), best I got was, "we don't suggest it because we can't be there and if it happens accidentally/ in an emergency situation call an ambulance, they'll have the tools to help and then take you to the hospital". I need help- I feel like I don't actually have the choice here and idk what to be looking up/looking into or anything about how to plan for this. I've spent the last 6 months *assuming* the doctor/midwife was a midwife I could plan with...so now in the third trimester, kind of panicking, because I still feel the instinct to plan for it all to be at home and dont know where to start.
