18 months stopped talking?!?

My son Elias use to say momma and dada at 7 months very clearly and he hasn’t said it in months and now he’s 18months. Does anyone know if this is regression autism or just late talker. I’m waiting list to book our first speech therapy appointment. If anyone can let me know what they did in this situation or have any insight. I’m loosing my mind waiting on our appointment.

This isn’t uncommon. 
Most speech therapist won’t do an evaluation until the end of 18m. 
Speech is tricky. They check expressive and receptive.  If babe has a really good receptive communication and some expressive, they may just be stubborn with their word bomb.
If babe is lacking receptive and expressive, it may be a delay. 
While delayed speech is a sign of autism, you can’t really jump to that. It’s more than that and typically can’t be diagnosed until after 2. 
My daughter said 1-2 verbal words a few times under 12m old and then stopped completely. She had quite a few signs down in asl which helped a ton. At 18m, she had maybe 1-2 verbal words and 10-15 signs. She had receptive communication down 100%. We had her evaluated at 22m when she was still at that point. She didn’t qualify for services at that time and deemed stubborn and not delayed. Lol at 24m she hit her word bomb. By 25m she was at 100 words. By 26m, 300 words. She’s 28m now and combing two words and working on sentences. 🤷🏻‍♀️
She’s a very normal and advanced 2 year old despite taking her time to talk. She still signs a lot too.
