Should I get my key fobs changed?
I live with my parents with 2 toddlers. It was last resort because my dad is an abusive addict. But I was leaving my abusive baby dad who did worse, so it was the better of two evils. I also have ADHD so I lose things a lot and am disorganized.
About 6 months ago, my dad randomly had the spare key to my car. Took it out of his pocket one day in front of me and used it like normal. He also admitted to using it to put something in my car. He was just carrying it like it was one of his own. I was so confused but I took it back. A couple months later, he tried to lie about my car’s issues to convince me to take it into the shop. And at that same time, he also took my mom’s keys and shut her phone off for days. Made her lose her job. Now, he tracks her phone calls and logs. She also thinks he put cameras in her room to watch her when he’s not there
About a month ago, I had a bad sinus infection and slept a lot during the day and gave up on trying to clean my room, so I did bare minimum. But I started to do a really deep cleaning and I’m realizing I can’t find my spare key anywhere. I keep thinking maybe one of my kids just lost it on me or something. Plus the fact he is terrified of being in trouble with cops makes me feel comfortable. But my mind keeps telling me not to ignore the past. The dealership says they can change my kept fobs for $150. But I would hate to change them in the chance I find them and the $150 was wasted.
