Doctor said I need to stop breastfeeding if I want to conceive
I have two children, trying to conceive my third, my daughter is 1 and a half years old, since I’ve had her I’ve breastfed, I also haven’t had one period to date, she’s on three meals a day, sippy cups during the day with water and I just do top up feeds and night feeds at her request, maybe 5/6 short feeds a day maximum!
I went to the doctors as I was hoping after a year and a half unprotected sex I would be pregnant but have had no luck (took me three years to have my second so thought I would get the ball rolling) after a lot of blood tests they’ve basically said that the only options I have is to stop breast feeding to try bring my cycle back which I really don’t want to do when my daughter finds comfort in it but also would love to have another, does anyone have any advice or ways to bring back my cycle without stopping breastfeeding or reassurance that it’s normal to not have a period for 16 months due to breast feeding please?
