Fellow homeschoolers! Help!
So I’m currently homeschooling our 6 yr old, and when we first started, it was relatively smooth-sailing, but then we ended up taking a break for a couple weeks because we moved and then the holidays and it was just chaos for a bit. We’ve just resumed studying the other day, and it has been like pulling teeth. My 6 yr old is being SO stubborn and acting uninterested and uncooperative and not only has that been challenging enough by itself, my husband has recently mentioned that we should enroll him in public school next year.
I absolutely DO NOT want to, for lots of reasons, (not the point of this post though) Im sure this is just a rough patch, but if my husband sees how stubborn our son is being, I’m sure it’ll fuel the public school agenda, and I’m not sure how to argue against that. I think my husband thinks that he’s not getting a good enough education and that he doesn’t have “school friends” to socialize with regularly, and those are his reasons for wanting to do public. I have about a thousand for wanting to stick with homeschool.
How do we get back on track? Advice?
