Childcare advice

ne

I work part-time for minimum wage and am actively seeking a full-time job to provide better support for myself and my child. Securing childcare assistance has been challenging despite submitting requested documents. Initially, they required my son to be in daycare, so I enrolled him. Then, they asked for his father's schedule, who is an independent contractor with no fixed hours. They requested a letter from his employer and proof that I'm no longer receiving unemployment benefits, even though I stopped receiving them in December of last year. Now, my childcare assistance has been denied due to insufficient work hours, leaving me owing the daycare over $2000 by Monday. This situation hinders my ability to accept a new job offer that would improve my financial situation. Despite my child's father helping with essentials and childcare, the fluctuating nature of his income complicates the assistance process. I'm feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about the next steps so does anyone have any advice they can offer me?

I can't turn to family for help. My mother disapproves of the new administrative assistant job I was offered, suggesting I work in a hotel kitchen from 3 pm to 1 am. She criticizes my parenting choices, especially my son's schedule, and believes I should take a job with early mornings or late nights for less than $20 per hour. She sees being a mom as requiring sacrifice, which she feels I'm not doing. Any suggestions on how to navigate this situation?
