My bf and I are on holiday at his place, I was driving his dad’s car and I accidentally crashed it against the neighbours’ tree and there is a damage of about $10K…

My bf didn’t want to admit that I did it, and told his dad it was him, his dad is very upset with him and disappointed.

I feel a huge sense of guilt for having my bf cover for me and putting him in an awkward position with his dad.

I am thinking of owning up to it and telling his dad it was in fact me and that I am sorry.

Any advice on what I should do?

(For context here: money for repair isn’t the biggest issue, we can pay off the cost of fixing easily, it is rather the relationship between my bf and his dad that I am concerned about; also the neighbour is aware of the tree damage and we have fixed it with him)
