School won't let my son take any honors classes
My son is nonverbal autistic. He knows sign language and besides not being able to talk he's a typical teenager. He does really well in school and has had straight A's since 7th grade. He's not even in special Ed classes anymore. He's in regular classes and several of his teachers have said they believe he should do honors classes. If he takes those classes and passes the AP exam they can count as a college credit. But the school won't put him in any honors classes. When I tried talking to the guidance counselor she scoffed when I said he wanted to go to college. All his teachers are very supportive of him doing honors classes. It's getting the school to allow him to. It's like if people think because he can't talk he's dumb.
