Trying to conceive

I have always had 19-23 day cycles. I had a miscarriage back in July, we have been ttc and one app says I’m supposed to start my period today & one says I was supposed to start on the 3rd. I just have that gut feeling I’m not pregnant. Does anyone else TTC get scared to take a test because you don’t want to be even more disappointed?
