What is your opinion on open relationships?

Some people aren’t meant to be monogamous so they chose to have multiple partners with their partner’s permission. Is open relationships healthy to have? What are your thoughts?

It usually ends terribly for most people, in the long term.

If you are not willing to commit to someone, don’t. Calling it open relationship is usually 1 sided and ends terrible. If you find your person, you can’t possibly think of sharing or seeing someone else.

Not for me, but I really don’t care what other people do in their relationship. Open relationships absolutely work for some people. As long as everyone involved is a consenting adult

No opinion. Whatever works for people is none of my business. Open relationships come with challenges, but monogamous relationships do too. I’ve been in both and see no difference in the quality of the relationship as long as both people have the same goals

Not a choice I’d make for myself, but I don’t care what other folks choose to do. As long as it’s safe and consensual, it’s a non-issue.

It works for some and doesn't for others. What's important is respect and communication.
 For most, it's a no go so it's important to respect what other people choose to do with their own lives
 and minding your own business and keeping your mouth shut about it if it's not for you.

I don’t really have an opinion on it, other than I personally know it’s not something I’d ever have a desire to explore. I don’t really care what other people chose to do in their relationships.

Usually ends poorly when the other person their actual partner gets tired of it. It’s usually one sided and to keep the other person happy they go with it or to not lose them etc. let’s just be honest they aren’t happy in the relationship they aren’t getting what they truly need from one person. So they offer the suggestion of an open relationship. The wife or girlfriend probably doesn’t really want to do it but doesn’t want to be alone. And regrets it later. Unless they are both down for it like swingers. But when it’s one sided usually not. I knew a guy that the wife was an alcoholic they still live together even have grandkids. She told him go get yourself a girlfriend. Still comes home to her and sleeps in the same bed. He feels he can’t leave her but she wants him to be happy and his needs met. To each their own.
